The Gurdon School District recently received 4 grants from the AR Game & Fish Commission through the Arkansas National Archery in the School Program. There will be a set of equipment for 4th grade elementary division of competition, a set of equipment for the 5th & 6th grade elementary division of competiton, a set of equipment for the 7th & 8th grade middle school division of competition, and a set of equipment for the 9th - 12th grade high school division of competition. Then only stipulation other than yearly reports, the schools must use the equipment during a physical education class for 10 days during the school year. After that has been completed, the equipment will be used for after school purposes, tryouts held, and a competition team built in all four divisional levels. Also, the teams MUST be co-ed with at least 16 members but no more than 24 per team. Each team must have at least 5 archers of each gender. Unless other tournaments are scheduled, the ANASP State Tournament will be held at Hot Springs Convention Center on February 5th for Elementary Division, and February 6th for Middle School and High School Division. |  |
